The AI Commission for Health and Social Care supports the guidance of the AI and digital regulations service (AIDRS)

The AI Commission for Health and Social Care has endorsed the AI and Digital Regulations Service (AIDRS). The service aims to help prospective adopters and developers of AI navigate this complex landscape of emerging technologies in health and social care.

AIDRS has been jointly developed by 4 key regulatory and evaluation authorities for health and social care:

  • National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE)
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • Health Research Authority (HRA)
  • Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)

AIDRS provides a summary of regulations and guidelines relevant to the deployment of AI technology as well as case studies and commentary for adopters and developers in health and social care:

The AI Commission will cooperate with NHS England and UK partners to support AIDRS in meeting the needs of service users in Wales. Welsh NHS and social care users of AIDRS with specific concerns should contact the appropriate organisations in Wales for additional support.

Further information can be found on the AIDRS website.
