Tampa Electric was recently recognized as a 2024 Business Customer Champion for commercial customer engagement in a national study. It was among 24 utilities honored for providing a world-class customer experience.
Overall, Business Customer Champions were credited with strong outreach to local communities, leading to greater utility-business customer relationships and loyalty. The honor is given each year to utilities with exceptional performance in brand trust, service satisfaction and product experience - three categories that compose Escalent's proprietary Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) Index.
The Cogent Syndicated 2024 Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagementâ„¢ (UTBCE): Business study tracks the performance of 78 gas, electric and combination utilities to identify brand and customer experience opportunities and trends in the industry. The report is published semiannually by Escalent, a top data analytics and advisory firm with extensive energy, utility and brand experience.

Tampa Electric has dedicated key-account managers to help commercial customers with their electric utility needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2024, Tampa Electric launched a new online portal for new, temporary and upgraded construction service requests, adding convenience and time savings for customers.

About 12,300 business customers from 78 of the largest electric, natural gas and combination utilities across the country responded to the web-based survey.
