Detroit snow removal contractors indicate residential streets plowing is completed

  • DPW supervisors will survey areas to make sure snow plowing of residential side streets was completed

Private snow contractors for the Detroit Department of Public Works (DPW) are reporting that they have completed snow plowing of 1,884 miles of residential side streets, which should have been completed at midnight today, Jan. 27. Now DPW supervisors will check to make the work has been completed.

Residents are reminded that contractors are required to clear a 16-foot-wide path (enough for two cars to pass each other), so individuals can get off their street and to a main road.

Residents who believe that a residential street has been missed should report the issue using the Improve Detroit app or call DPW Street Maintenance Division at (313) 224-0033.
