ROSELAND, N.J. - The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) raised $30,443 in online donations - marking a return closer to post-COVID levels of more than $35,000 donated in 2022 and 2021 - and delivered 2,065 pounds of nonperishable items and canned goods to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) for its sixteenth annual food drive in November.

Sponsored by the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council, the food drive collected food items at its Roseland office and various member offices and also included a volunteer day at the FoodBank in Hillside.

The CFBNJ distributes food to more than 800 community partners and over 90 million meals annually. According to the CFBNJ, nearly 12% of New Jerseyans are food insecure. The NJCPA has donated approximately 25,000 pounds of food items to the FoodBank since 2010.

"Hunger affects so many New Jerseyans. The Food Drive is a great way to give back to the local communities we are all a part of. Whether through volunteering at the FoodBank's packing facility or providing monetary donations, it's important to get involved," said Joseph Hunt, CPA, PSA, manager in the nonprofit group at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) LLP and chair of the NJCPA Emerging Leaders Council.

"We are so proud of our members and their generosity to this worthy cause. CPAs help New Jerseyans in so many ways, and this is another wonderful initiative to show how much they give back on a daily basis," said Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, MA, IOM, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.
