Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin Meets with Directors of Swedish Museums

On April 22, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin met with Jenny Lind, Director of the Vasa Museum, Odd Johansson, Director of the VRAK - Museum of Wrecks, and Mats Djurberg, Director of the National Maritime Museum. The two sides exchanged views on cultural exchanges and practical cooperation between Chinese and Swedish museums.

Ambassador Cui reviewed the history of friendly exchanges between China and Sweden, briefed on China's rich museum resources and its innovative efforts in recent years to "bring cultural relics to life", and commended Sweden's advanced practices in cultural heritage preservation, museum digitization, and public outreach campaigns. He noted the vast potential for cooperation between the two countries in the museum sector and looked forward to fostering deeper collaboration in joint exhibitions and technical exchanges, promoting the mutual learning between civilizations, strengthening people-to-people ties, and continuing to enhance the understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The museum directors shared an overview of their respective museums, expressed their desire to attract more Chinese tourists, and expressed their willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side in the museum sector.
