State visit of the President of the Republic Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the Republic of India – New Delhi, February 18 -21, 2026

The President of the Republic will visit India on February 18 - 21 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On February 19 -20, the President will take part in the Summit on the Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related events. The Summit will follow up on the so-called Bletchley process, a series of intergovernmental meetings on AI safety and governance. On February 21, he will be hosted on a State visit and will hold meetings with Indian leaders.

During the meeting with the Prime Minister, the two leaders will have the opportunity to deepen dialogue and cooperation between Brazil and India in areas including trade, investment, defense, aviation, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, economy and finance, energy transition, critical minerals, health, access to medicines and the pharmaceutical industry, and space cooperation. They are also expected to address current challenges to multilateralism and the need for a comprehensive reform of global governance.

During his visit to India, President Lula will be accompanied by a delegation of Ministers and a mission of Brazilian entrepreneurs

In 2025, India was Brazil's fifth-largest trading partner, with a trade flow of $15.2 billion.
