Cape & Coast Bank today announced the promotion of Eric Emmel to Vice President, Project Manager, an internal advancement that created the opportunity to welcome Roman Mako back to the Bank as Vice President, Group Operations Manager.
Emmel's promotion reflects Cape & Coast Bank's ongoing commitment to developing talent and advancing employees within the Bank. In his new role, he will lead enterprise-wide project management efforts, partnering with executive leadership to prioritize initiatives, coordinate resources, and guide cross-functional projects from planning through implementation. Emmel will also strengthen project governance, support change management, and help ensure work is delivered with a focus on compliance, risk management, and measurable results.
"We are proud to recognize Eric's contributions and promote him into this important role," said Erik Porter, President and Chief Executive Officer. "His advancement reflects the strength of our internal team and our commitment to creating growth opportunities for our employees. At the same time, it allowed us to bring back an experienced leader like Roman, whose expertise will further strengthen our operations."
Mako returns to Cape & Coast Bank after previously serving the organization for 16 years in a range of management roles, where he helped oversee Deposit Operations and the Customer Assistance Center and contributed to the Bank's service and operational excellence.
"We are thrilled to welcome Roman back to Cape & Coast Bank," said Porter. "Roman is a proven operations leader who knows our organization, understands our culture, and brings deep experience in deposit operations, electronic payments, and process improvement. His return strengthens our team as we continue to build on the Bank's commitment to dependable service and operational excellence."
In his new role, Mako will oversee group operations with a focus on supporting efficient, accurate, and customer-centered banking services. His background includes more than 20 years of experience managing debit card, ACH, wire, real-time payments, dispute operations, process conversions, and risk controls across financial institutions.
Mako began his career with Cape & Coast Bank in 2005 (then The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod) and held multiple leadership positions before departing five years ago to pursue other opportunities. During his time away, he continued to build his expertise across card operations, electronic funds transfer, and payment systems leadership, most recently serving in operations management roles at other financial institutions.
Cape & Coast Bank congratulates Eric on his promotion and welcomes Roman back to the Bank, reflecting its continued focus on internal growth, thoughtful succession planning, and strong operational leadership.
