ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY (Friday, April 17, 2026) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

Miami County-State Route 201 at State Route 571 Intersection Improvements, PID 122003 - ODOT proposes to convert the existing two-way stop-controlled intersection at SR 201 and SR 571 in Bethel Township, Miami County to a modern roundabout. The project is intended to reduce crashes, particularly injury crashes at this location. Based on the current schedule, construction is expected to begin after April 2028.

Miami County-Troy Riverfront Recreational Trail, PID 121677 - The City of Troy proposes to construct a multi-use path on the south bank of the Great Miami River, between Great Miami Recreation Trail at Treasure Island Park and Crawford Street. The project is intended to improve pedestrian and bicycle access along the Great Miami River and expand the regional trail network. Construction is expected to begin in Fall 2027.

Montgomery County-State Route 741 Pedestrian Improvements, PID 122021 - Miami Township in Montgomery County proposes to improve pedestrian connectivity between Ferndown Drive and Newmark Drive. Under the current preferred alternative, a design-standard 11-foot-wide shared use path will be constructed on the east side of State Route 741. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2027.

Montgomery County-Frederick Pike at Old Springfield Road Intersection Improvements, PID 122010 - The Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District, in cooperation with the Montgomery County Engineer's Office, proposes to implement safety improvements at the intersection of Frederick Pike and Old Springfield Road. The current preferred alternative is a modern roundabout. Construction is expected to begin in September 2027.

Montgomery County-Timber Lane Bridge over Interstate 75, PID 95398 - UPDATE - ODOT proposes to replace and raise the Timber Lane Bridge over Interstate 75. The new bridge will meet minimum under bridge clearance and will provide a sidewalk on the south side of Timber Lane, from Bears Trail to Shadeland Drive. A new crosswalk and pedestrian warning signs will be provided at Bears Trail, to connect with the existing sidewalk on the north side of Timber Lane. In order to protect the traveling public, the project will require night-time closures of Interstate 75; signed detours will be provided. Advance notice will be provided via press releases and message boards. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2028.

Comments may be submitted by contacting the individual below. Issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
