Synergy by Association Introduces Themis as Second Emerging Vendor, Expanding Access to Modern Compliance Solutions for Oregon Banks

The Oregon Bankers Association (OBA), through its wholly owned subsidiary Synergy by Association (Synergy), has announced Themis as the second participant in its Emerging Vendor Program, continuing to build a pipeline of innovative solutions for Oregon's banking community.

Launched earlier this year, the Emerging Vendor Program is designed to introduce promising solution providers to OBA member banks while Synergy conducts ongoing evaluation for potential future endorsement. The program provides banks with early access to relevant tools and technologies while supporting a thoughtful, real-world approach to vendor vetting.

Themis was founded by Neepa Patel, a former OCC regulator and banking and fintech compliance executive, after seeing how financial institutions struggled to manage risk and compliance across disconnected systems and manual processes. "Banks were managing risk and compliance across a fragmented mix of tools that weren't built to work together," said Patel. "We saw an opportunity to change that - to give institutions a single, centralized platform where everything connects. That's why we built Themis."

Themis is a governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) platform built for regulated financial institutions and their partners. Designed for the complexities of modern banking and bank-fintech relationships, Themis centralizes risk, compliance, and operational workflows in one platform. Its AI-assisted capabilities streamline document review, compliance oversight in a collaborative format, risk assessments, and control testing while maintaining the transparency and auditability regulators require.

"The addition of Themis reflects the type of forward-looking solution the Emerging Vendor Program was designed to surface," said Andee Rose, senior vice president at Synergy by Association. "As compliance expectations continue to evolve, particularly around third-party risk and fintech partnerships, community banks are looking for more integrated and scalable approaches. Themis brings a modern platform that aligns well with those needs."

For community banks, Themis offers a practical and scalable approach to managing compliance and risk:

  • Stronger oversight of third parties and fintech partners through structured workflows and shared visibility
  • Centralized compliance and risk activities, bringing policies, procedures, controls, audits, and reporting into one platform
  • Improved regulatory readiness with clear audit trails and real-time insights
  • Greater operational efficiency by automating workflows and reducing administrative burden
  • Support for growth and innovation without adding operational complexity

As part of the Emerging Vendor Program, OBA member banks receive preferred pricing, including a 15% discount on Themis services. OBA members interested in learning more about Themis are invited to schedule a live demo by contacting Dana Lawrence, Vice President of Go To Market and Customer Relationships, at [email protected] or (404) 964-9657. Lawrence, an experienced banker and governance executive, used Themis for three years at a community bank before joining the Themis team in October 2025.
