COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 28, 2025 - For the second consecutive year, American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP) has been named one of Forbes magazine's Best Employers for Engineers. AEP is ranked as one of the top employers for engineers in the utilities sector.
"We are committed to providing an innovative environment for our engineers, who design, construct, and maintain the systems that keep electricity flowing for millions of customers," said Bill Fehrman, AEP chairman, president and chief executive officer. "The work our engineers do is both challenging and rewarding, ensuring our communities receive safe and affordable service. As we build the energy system of the future to meet historic energy demand, we are grateful for our engineers' dedication and creativity."
Forbes partnered with Statista to survey more than 28,000 members of America's engineering workforce, each employed by companies with at least 1,000 employees across all industry sectors. Respondents were asked how likely they were to recommend their current employer, previous employers, and other companies known through peers. Workplace flexibility, professional development opportunities and benefits were among the criteria evaluated to determine the top 175 companies recognized on the list.
