Rep. Mike Kelly statement on President Donald J. Trump's Joint Address to Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued this statement following President Trump's Joint Address to Congress Tuesday night.

"Tonight, President Trump made it clear: America is back, and we are open for business. Just as importantly, he will operate government like a business. The President is committed to restoring the American Dream for all Americans, cutting wasteful spending, lowering taxes, securing our borders, and getting our great nation back on track," said Rep. Kelly. "I look forward to working with President Trump to enact his America First agenda in the year ahead!"

President Trump's actions since has taken office include:

• Signed "The Laken Riley Act" to combat illegal immigration after House Republicans unanimously passed the legislation
• Declared a national emergency and deployed the military at the border.
• Classified cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.
• Established the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to root out waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars.
• Redesignated Iran-backed Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
• Hosted foreign leaders from Israel, Japan, India, and Jordan at the White House to discuss peace and economic prosperity between countries.
• Reduced China's influence in the Panama Canal by getting the Panamanian president to withdraw from the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative
• Declared a National Energy Emergency to unlock America's full energy potential.
• Rescinded every one of the Biden administration's job-killing, pro-China, anti-American energy regulations.
• Ended the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) pause and approved the first LNG project since the Biden administration's ban.
