UAV Skills Camp

Dates: Jan. 15-17, 2025. Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Location: Indiana State Fairgrounds (Marion County).

Description:

IDHS is hosting the fourth annual UAV Skills Camp Jan. 15-17, 2025, at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Attendees should be UAV pilots who want to hone their skills, evaluate sensor systems, and train and evaluate other UAV pilots. Those who are interested in becoming UAV pilots may also attend.

The camp offers the opportunity to complete the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) sUAS Standard Test Methods Course daily. Attendees can expect plenty of opportunity for valuable flying time indoors (may also fly outdoors, weather permitting). There is no cost to attend.

IDHS partners with several public safety drone operations units and private industry to host a free drone skills camp annually in January. The camp, which is free to attend but requires pre-registration, provides drone teams from emergency management agencies, law enforcement agencies and fire departments three days to trade tips, demonstrate drone skills and test drone equipment.
