WTI Crude Oil futures hold near $86 as Middle East tensions persist.

WTI Crude Oil futures rallied to start the week, climbing above $86 a barrel as increased geopolitical tensions in the Middle East drove prices to their highest level since late August. The market remains choppy following a wide $74 to $89 range for the month, while the CVOL index moves higher alongside the uptick in crude prices. Meanwhile, speculators continue to add to net long positions, reaching their highest levels since mid-June. Todd Colvin of Mark IV Brokerage discusses the day's price action, volatility trends, and shifting market positioning.
