Planning Board Approves Construction of Tallest Building in Middlesex County

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (March 20, 2026) - The New Brunswick Planning Board last Monday unanimously approved plans to construct a 45-story apartment tower at 259 George St. Once completed, the high-rise will become the tallest building in Middlesex County, significantly altering the city's skyline. The project is a partnership between the Abundant Life Family Worship Church, which owns the vacant lot, and the developer, Ifany LLC.

The building will feature 800 residential units, including apartments designated as affordable or low-income housing. In addition to the residential space, the plan incorporates 501 parking spots within a covered garage, 25,000 square feet of retail space, and approximately 18,000 square feet of amenities, including a coworking space, lounges, and a gym.
