The Brazilian Government learned with consternation of the tragic landslides and floods in Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region, China, following the earthquake that occurred on August 26, which resulted in numerous deaths and left hundreds of people missing. The Brazilian Government expresses its profound sorrow and solidarity to the families of the victims, as well as to the people and Governments of Nepal and China.
The Embassy of Brazil in Kathmandu and the Embassy of Brazil in Beijing are closely monitoring developments related to the disaster in the affected areas. As of now, there have been no reports of Brazilian nationals among the victims.
