Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) is recognizing Oklahoma Severe Weather Awareness Week by encouraging customers to take proactive steps to stay safe and prepared. PSO's work to keep families safe happens all season and around the clock. Knowing what to do, and when to do it, is important when severe weather strikes.
PSO is also monitoring the potential for severe weather across the service area this week. Severe thunderstorms, large hail, high winds, and isolated tornadoes could cause power outages.
Customers depend on PSO for power and that responsibility is taken very seriously. If power goes out, PSO crews are ready to restore it safely and quickly. View PSO's 4 steps to restore your power.

More On How PSO Prepares for Severe Weather
PSO crews work year-round to strengthen the electric grid by trimming trees near power lines, upgrading equipment, and installing smart technology to help reduce outages and improve response times.
"We're always monitoring weather conditions and preparing our system to handle whatever Oklahoma's spring might bring," said Dwayne Apple, PSO Vice President of Distribution Operations. "Now is a great time to review your emergency plans, check your supplies, and make sure your loved ones and neighbors are ready too."
PSO recently held a comprehensive storm drill to prepare employees for the unique challenges of Oklahoma's weather. The exercise brought together teams from across the company to practice real-time response activities - including weather forecasting, resource management, and restoration planning - all designed to ensure PSO can respond safely and quickly when storms strike. By refining processes and applying lessons from past events, PSO strengthens its ability to deliver reliable service during the region's most active storm months.
