Dentons US welcomes Corporate partner Cameron Kates to New York office

Dentons US today announced that Cameron Kates has joined the Firm's Corporate practice as a partner in the New York office. Kates advises technology companies, investors, and financial institutions on commercial and corporate transactions, product development, and the regulatory questions that come with building in fast-moving markets. He has particular depth in fintech, digital assets, and AI, fields where deals are often novel and the regulatory environment is still taking shape.

Kates advises clients on financings, technology transactions, joint ventures, and mergers and acquisitions, and he actively maintains a product counseling practice where he works alongside companies as they design, develop, and bring to market products in regulated or potentially regulated spaces.

Before joining Dentons, Kates served as chief legal officer and chief business officer of a leading digital asset company, where he drove market-shaping acquisitions, structured commercial agreements with global brands and creators, successfully navigated regulatory investigations-including closure of a Wells Notice-and prevailed in multiple litigation matters. Kates also previously practiced at several large law firms, representing clients in significant private equity and M&A transactions, capital markets technology mandates, and complex joint ventures across a broad range of industries and transaction types.
