Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 59, 99, & 165

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 59, (SR-59), SR-99 and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 59

  • One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Lincoln Rd to Furtado Rd for grinding and paving operation on Wednesday August 26, 2026, from 6:30 am to 2;30 pm.

  • One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from 12th St to SR-99 south for griding operation on Friday August 28, 2026, from 7:00 am to 11:30 am.

State Route 99

  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Ave over-crossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Full off ramp closure on southbound SR-99 to SR-140 E for grinding operation on Friday August 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Full on ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at the G St underpass for grinding operation on Friday August 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr Way for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr Way for striping operation on Monday, August 24 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at 16th St under-crossing for striping operations on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Full on ramp closure for SR-99 southbound at Westside Blvd for paving operation on Thursday August 27, 2026, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramps closure on SR-99 at Winton Parkway overcrossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at Collier Rd underpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on and off ramp closure for northbound and on ramp for southbound SR-99 at Shanks Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at South Turlock overpass/Golden State Blvd for striping operation on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.

State Route 165

  • One way traffic control on SR-165 northbound and southbound from California Aqueduct Bridge to Cotton Gin Rd for griding and paving operation from Monday, August 24 to Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Overnight one way traffic control on SR-165 northbound and southbound at Crane Ave for utility work on Sunday, August 23 through Friday August 28, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
