Geisinger School of Nursing receives full approval from State Board of Nursing

SCRANTON -
Geisinger School of Nursing has received full approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing (SBON). The School of Nursing's Associate Degree in Nursing program has been on initial approval status since it was approved by the Board in June 2022.

"Full approval means that the Board of Nursing found our educational program to be in compliance with every regulation regarding registered nursing education," said School of Nursing Director Lauren Weaver, MSN, RN, CNE. "During a recent site visit, the Board reviewed everything from our school's organization and administration to our curriculum and recordkeeping and even our facilities. I am proud to say that the Board was impressed and moved us to full approval status."

Of note in SBON's letter granting full approval was the School's National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) pass rates for 2024 to 2025, which showed a 93.75% pass rate.
