TALLAHASSEE, FLA. -

In preparation for Thanksgiving travel and Small Business Saturday, Secretary of State Cord Byrd announced the launch of the new Florida Main Street app. This app lets users explore Florida Main Street communities highlighting businesses, events and points of interest.

"The Florida Main Street App invites users to personalize their travel experience by building a dynamic itinerary to explore restaurants, businesses, parks, theaters, murals and historic sites in Florida's Main Street Communities," said Secretary Byrd. "This app is a great tool to promote Florida's Main Street Communities and connect users with unique shopping and dining experiences during the holiday season and beyond."

Florida Main Street app is available for download

Users can search within the app for specific types of businesses such as lodging, shopping, services, food and drink, and activities such as concerts, parades, golf, and events. Event information including dates, times, locations, and a brief description is displayed in the app along with details about landmarks. Enhancements under development include statewide themed tours focusing on America250FL, barbeque, breweries, cafés and coffee shops.

Currently, Florida Main Street communities contain over 3,600 active businesses and 983 restaurants. The Department is grateful to the 52 Florida Main Street communities for their commitment to ensuring visitors to our state continue to learn more about the unique history, heritage and culture of Florida's communities.

The app is available in the App Store and Google Play. For more information and a QR code to download the app, visit the Florida Main Street website.
