WASHINGTON- The United States Senate has confirmed Douglas Troutman to serve as the Assistant Administrator of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP). Appointed by President Donald J. Trump, Douglas Troutman will oversee the critical functions of the office that ensure the safe use of pesticides and chemicals.

"Doug Troutman's experience uniquely positions him to lead EPA's Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention. Doug knows the importance of advancing new and innovative solutions for farmers who are the backbone of our food supply while ensuring safe use of chemicals that will help Power the Great American Comeback. He understands the laws governing pesticides and chemicals but also understands the companies that make them. He'll be able to protect human health and the environment without placing undue burdens on the businesses that support our economy. I know we'll be able to accomplish great things together and I look forward to working with him and the team," said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

Douglas Troutman comes to EPA with over two decades of experience in environmental policy and chemical safety regulation. Prior to joining EPA, Mr. Troutman was the Co-CEO of the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), responsible for the overall leadership of the legal and government affairs functions. His work at ACI included engagement and advocacy on ingredient communication, chemical management, product safety and environmental and energy policy issues important to the cleaning products industry. He previously held senior positions at Underwriters Laboratories and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. He also was on the legislative staff to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) from 1992 to 1996. Mr. Troutman earned his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law, and his B.A. in International Affairs and Russian studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
