Washington, D.C. - Congressman Shri Thanedar (D-MI), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security's Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Subcommittee, introduced 10 amendments for the Department of Homeland Security's Reconciliation Bill.
"Donald Trump's DHS reconciliation bill gifts billions of dollars to a cruel and unaccountable immigration enforcement system," said Rep. Shri Thanedar. "My amendments would stop taxpayer dollars from funding warehouse detention while increasing accountability through body-worn cameras, ending qualified immunity for ICE agents, and ensuring people in detention centers have access to food, medical care, and clean facilities."
