President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Javier Milei of the Argentine Republic and all the people of this country on its national day-Día de la Patria.
"I am delighted that Lithuania and Argentina are bound by strong and warm ties, founded on a long-standing tradition of friendship between our nations, cultural exchanges, and enduring economic and trade links. I am confident that our relations will continue to grow and contribute to the further well-being of our peoples," the President's message of congratulations reads.
According to the President, Lithuania and Argentina cooperate successfully at the multilateral level, particularly within the framework of the EU and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), which strengthens regional dialogue and political cooperation. The Lithuanian leader welcomed the swift ratification of the EU-Mercosur Agreement in Argentina, underlining that this agreement opens new opportunities to expand political and economic ties between the EU and Mercosur, as well as bilateral cooperation.
"We appreciate Argentina's aspiration to develop a closer partnership with NATO. Cooperation between NATO and Argentina would strengthen the transatlantic space and contribute to preserving the rules-based international order. I firmly believe that we will continue to stand together in support of Ukraine in its fight for freedom and support it in solidarity until victory," the President wrote in his message.
On national day, Gitanas Nausėda wished Argentina and its people continued security, peace and many years of prosperity.
