Starting Sunday, August 17, Metro Transit's new Route D2 will provide all-day bus service through Verona, running every 30 minutes on weekdays and every 60 minutes on nights and weekends.
The route includes stops that connect riders to popular local destinations such as the Verona Park & Ride, Ice Age National Scenic Trail, Verona Ice Arena, Century School Park, and Verona Area High School.
"The expanded bus service will help Verona residents get to where they need to go whether it's for work or entertainment," said Mayor Luke Diaz. "I'm excited to see it finally roll out."
Paratransit service will also be available for individuals with disabilities who cannot use Metro's accessible fixed-route buses. The paratransit service area, hours, and days of service will closely match Route D2 schedules.
Metro Transit now accepts contactless credit cards and virtual wallets, or riders can pick up Metro Fast Fare cards-available at Verona City Hall and the Verona Public Library-and register for half-price youth and senior fares.
