John Nygren Honored with the Central Region Archie League Medal of Safety

When a small aircraft entered a dangerous spiral in instrument conditions, the difference between disaster and recovery came down to a single, clear instruction. At the Archie League Medal of Safety Award Banquet during Communicating For Safety 2026, controller John Nygren was honored for recognizing the emergency and calmly talking the pilot back to level flight. His quick thinking gave a shaken pilot the chance to fly home safely.
