JOHNSON COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting lane closures on U.S. Highway 50 two miles west of Missouri Highway 58 at Blackwater River and Butcher Branch beginning on Monday, April 13. Eastbound and westbound traffic will each be reduced to one lane. Eastbound traffic will utilize crossovers to move into one of the westbound lanes. The closures will be in place for the rehabilitation of the eastbound bridge over Blackwater River and the replacement of the eastbound bridge over Butcher Branch. The project is scheduled to be completed in October 2026. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
