Washington, D.C. - 10/1/25… The office of Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) released the following statement regarding recent reports of federal funding reductions negatively impacting New York:
"Congressman Lawler strongly opposes these harmful cuts, which undermine, amongst other things, our counterterrorism efforts and critical infrastructure projects in New York," said Nate Soule, spokesman for Congressman Lawler. "He has consistently supported law enforcement and first responders, ensuring they have the resources necessary to keep our communities safe. Likewise, he has fought to secure investments in infrastructure that drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers."
"Congressman Lawler has been in active discussions with the White House since Tuesday morning to reverse both of these decisions and fully restore the funding," concluded Soule. "The Congressman will continue to work with the Administration and his colleagues in Congress to ensure that New York receives the support necessary to safeguard its residents and strengthen its economy.
