The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) came out with its annual regional rankings for teams and individuals and the NJIT women's tennis team was represented on both lists.
The Highlanders were ranked seventh in the Northeast Region after posting a 13-6 overall record this season. Additionally, and were ranked #10 in the Northeast Regional rankings in doubles competition.

"It was a great season for the team", said head coach . "They worked hard and their results reflected that. The team dynamic was exceptional throughout the season, and I'm glad their efforts were recognized. We will certainly miss our graduates."
NJIT concluded the 2024-25 season with its fourth consecutive trip to the Southland Conference Tournament and second Southland Conference semifinal appearance. The 13 overall wins this season marks the fourth straight season of double-digit victories. The Highlanders went a perfect 9-0 at home inside The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
Cocero and Wipfli, NJIT's top doubles tandem, were crowned the Southland Conference Doubles Champions at the 2024 Southland Conference Individual Tennis Championships and advanced to the 2024 ITA Masters Championships. The pair combined for a 7-2 overall record at the first spot.
Piorkowski McDonald added, "It's wonderful to see Irene and Laura being recognized by the ITA. Their teamwork has been nothing short of inspiring and has played a vital role in the team's success. They have consistently played competitively against some of the best teams in the region, and they truly deserve this recognition. The highlight of the year for the pair was their Southland Tournament win and the opportunity to compete in the Masters Tournament last fall. Irene and Laura's chemistry on the court is the perfect mix of intensity and love for the game. They always support each other."
