On 16 July 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand, upon his assumption of duty.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the area of trade and investment, with emphasis on hospitality and service sectors, logistics, and clean energy. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation in culture, public health, consular affairs, as well as joint efforts in combating online scams.

They further explored opportunities to promote exchanges of high-level visits and strengthen engagement between their private sectors and parliamentary friendship groups. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to working closely together to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest under the Thailand - India Strategic Partnership.
