Community agencies have partnered to bring a free showing of the popular film "The New Drug Talk" at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14 at the Times Theatre and Public House, in Seaside.

Anyone with a young person in their lives is encouraged to attend.

The event will begin with a screening of the 30-minute film that explains the influence of the highly addictive and lethal drug fentanyl on today's youth, and what parents, caregivers and others can do to protect them. Following the screening, a panel of local experts will discuss risk and protective factors related to youth and substance abuse. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask the panelist questions.

This event is free and open to the public, including families from other school districts. Dinner will be provided and there will be a prize drawing. Free naloxone and other community resources will also be available.

"We're excited to work with our partners to bring this movie to the community," said Jeff Roberts, Seaside Secondary School Principal. "This is a chance for everyone to show up and learn together how we can create a positive, healthy, and safe community for our families and young people"
