Senator Rosen Visits Health Center in Carson City, Calls for Extending Affordable Care Act Tax Credits Before They Expire

CARSON CITY, NV - Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) visited a health center in Carson City to speak with health care professionals about the Affordable Care Act's (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits, which allow tens of thousands of Nevadans to afford health insurance. The enhanced tax credits are set to expire this year unless Congress takes action. If they are allowed to expire, health care costs for thousands of Nevadans will go up, and many will lose their coverage.

"The Affordable Care Act's enhanced premium tax credits are critical for so many Nevadans to access quality, affordable health care," said Senator Rosen. "These enhanced tax credits are about to expire this year, which will cause premiums to go up and force Nevadans to lose their coverage. I was glad to visit Nevada Health Centers in Carson City to discuss first-hand why Nevadans need Congress to work across party lines to extend these tax credits. I'll keep fighting to protect health care access and keep costs from going up for Nevada families."

Senator Rosen has been a steadfast champion for Nevada's hospitals and health centers and she has been strongly opposed to Washington Republican efforts to gut Americans' access to health care. Earlier this year, she helped introduce the Health Care Affordability Act to make permanent the ACA's enhanced premium tax credits - ensuring that Nevada families can continue to afford coverage beyond 2025. Senator Rosen also traveled up and down the state, meeting with hospital staff to discuss Washington Republicans' extreme cuts to Medicaid and her legislation to reverse these cuts.
