A significant event in University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh history occurred April 24 with the formal investiture of Dr. Manohar Singh as 12th chancellor.
A large crowd was on hand Friday morning at Kolf Sports Center for the inauguration ceremony, attended by Chancellors and representative delegates from other Universities of Wisconsin, along with presidents and colleagues of other institutions and professional organizations. UW-Oshkosh Deans, faculty, staff and emeriti also filled seats at the event. Watch the event livestream here.

UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Manohar Singh addresses the crowd moments after being formally invested as the universities 12th chancellor.
A number of special guests spoke at the ceremony.
Dr. Ashok Rai, Universities of Wisconsin Regent, said the day marked "a new chapter of the UWO story," calling it a "shared story and shared time of celebration."
Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents President Amy Bogost, who spoke of Singh's conviction that "education is the ultimate door to opportunity," bestowed the title of Chancellor on Singh and the chancellor's medallion was placed upon him.
Singh spoke of his journey as a first-generation college student and traveling to the United States to pursue higher education and opportunity. He said he has a big responsibility in his role-particularly with the many first-generation college students who are starting their academic journey just as he had.
Singh, who began duties July 1, 2025, succeeded Chancellor Andrew Leavitt. Before being named interim president at Western Connecticut State in 2023, Singh was dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Southern Connecticut State University.
