Baker McKenzie Advises Metinvest B.V. on Strategic Acquisition of ArcelorMittal Iași in Romania

On 17 December 2025 Baker McKenzie Kyiv office's client Metinvest B.V. announced the strategic acquisition from ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Holding B.V. of a majority shareholding in ArcelorMittal Iași, Romania. This landmark transaction represents a significant milestone in Metinvest's ongoing regional expansion and reinforces the company's commitment to strengthening its footprint across Central and Eastern Europe.

The cross-border transaction required seamless collaboration across multiple jurisdictions and legal disciplines. Baker McKenzie Ukraine, acting as lead transactional counsel and working closely with Romanian legal counsel Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP), provided legal support throughout all stages of the acquisition, including due diligence, structuring, negotiation, execution and completion of the transaction.
