The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Lead Agency for the California Environmental Quality Act, is issuing a Notice of Availability of the Initial Study with proposed Negative Declaration (IS/ND), Notice of Intent to adopt a Negative Declaration, and Notice of Opportunity for a Public Meeting.
WHAT IS BEING PLANNED?
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to rehabilitate highway pavement. perform drainage work, install pedestrian islands, and provide upgrades or updates to several elements along state route (SR) 12 between post miles (PM) 0.0 - 3.31 in Napa County, approximately 0.5 mile east or the Napa County Airport and PM 0.0 - 7.90 in Solano County, in Fairfield and Suisun City. Rehabilitating the roadway would improve ride quality and drainage, reduce repetitive maintenance activities, and preserve and extend the life of the pavement.

Caltrans has studied the proposed project and has determined that there would not be any significant impacts to environmental resources as a result of the project. The Draft IS/ND explains wl1y the project would not t1ave significant impacts to environmental resources. Tl1is public notice is to inform you that tt1e Draft IS/ND is available for review during !lie 30-day public comment period.
