Shaheen Statement on Voting to Advance the Bipartisan Laken Riley Act

"I have long called for Congress to do more to address our nation's broken immigration system. Last year, I supported and voted twice in favor of the bipartisan border security bill that Republicans and Democrats negotiated in good faith until Donald Trump came out against it. I voted in favor of considering this bill because I strongly support efforts to improve our immigration enforcement and protect public safety and I hope that there is an amendment process that provides the opportunity to improve the bill."
