ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY (Wednesday, October 23, 2024) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

LOG-SR 235 Right-of-Way Acquisition, PID 121621: ODOT proposes to acquire additional right-of-way along State Route 235 in Logan County. The acquisition is intended to address safety concerns associated with inadequate sight lines. Upon acquisition, this additional right-of-way will be maintained to improve driver visibility of approaching vehicles on State Route 235. No physical construction or disturbance is proposed under the project.

LOG-U.S. 33 Slope Repairs, PID 118780: ODOT proposes to address conditions resulting in damage and/or slope repairs on the south slope of US 33 in Jefferson Township, near CR 5 and CR 10. The project is expected to occur in Summer 2025 or 2026 and require up to three months to construct. Traffic on US 33 and ramps will be maintained, although lane and shoulder closures may be required.

MOT-Great Miami Bikeway Connector, PID 115196: Five Rivers MetroParks, in cooperation with the City of Dayton, proposes to construct a multi-use trail connection along West Riverview Avenue, between the existing Great Miami Recreation Trail connections at Monument Avenue/Grafton Avenue and at Belmonte Park North. The project is necessary to address an existing gap in bicycle facilities along Riverview Avenue. The project is expected to begin in Summer 2026.

MOT-SR 725 at Jamaica Road Traffic Signal, PID 120371: ODOT proposes to convert the State Route 725 (Upper Miamisburg Road) at Jamaica Road intersection from two-way stop controlled to a signalized intersection. The project is intended to address congestion occurring on Jamaica Road that is leading to unsafe driving maneuvers, while minimize traffic queues on State Route 725 during peak hours.

MOT-Research Blvd Bridge Replacement and Shared Use Path, PID 116922: ODOT proposes to replace the bridge carrying Research Blvd. (State Route 835) over Beaver Creek in the City of Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. In cooperation with the City of Kettering, the project will also include installation of a shared use path along the north side of Research Blvd., from County Line Road to the business access drives near Station 128+50.
