The Norman Police Department (NPD) responded to an officer-involved collision Thursday evening. At approximately 7:19 p.m., an NPD officer was struck by a vehicle while outside of his patrol unit on State Highway 9, just west of 108th Avenue SE.
The officer was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the collision.
The Norman Police Department is grateful for the swift response and support of our local, county, and state law enforcement partners.
