Corporate teams and cycling clubs added to the Ladoga Gold race programme

The 3rd Ladoga Gold international multi-day cycling race will take place on 9-15 June as part of the Sport Games programme at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

This year, corporate teams and amateur cycling clubs will make their debut in the race. The prize pool for the team competition among non-professional cyclists is set at RUB 1 million. The race route will pass through the Leningrad Region and the Republic of Karelia, finishing in St. Petersburg.

"In recent years, cycling has become an important part of corporate culture for businesses. It was a natural decision to add a corporate team competition to the race programme for companies participating in SPIEF. They will compete against amateur cycling clubs led by successful former cyclists. I am confident that the contest in this category will be just as exciting as the one among professionals,"said Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.

The amateur competition will feature four stages. Company teams and cycling clubs will ride 52 kilometres through Vyborg and Pitkyaranta, 45 kilometres along the Pitkyaranta-Olonets route, and 54 kilometres around the Grebnoy Canal in St. Petersburg.

Each stage will have a prize pool of 100,000 rubles for corporate teams and cycling clubs. A team that wins a stage can either claim the prize money at the end of the day or leave it in the "bank", allowing it to roll over and grow for the next stage. If the prize money remains in the "bank" until the fourth stage, the winning team could claim a total of RUB 1 million.

The Ladoga Gold cycling race is organized by the Russian Cycling Federation together with the Roscongress Foundation, with support from the Russian Ministry of Sport and the Centre for the Preparation of Russian National Teams (CSP).

Avito is the general partner of the race. AvtoVAZ will provide vehicles for rider support and technical assistance. All amateur participants will be insured by SberInsurance. Russian Railways (RZD) is also a partner of Ladoga Gold.

Professional cyclists will compete across seven stages and will also finish at the Grebnoy Canal in St. Petersburg.
