Balfour Beatty, Terra & Turnberry Celebrate Topping Out of Grand Hyatt Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Fla. - A defining new addition to Miami Beach's skyline is one step closer to completion. Terra and Turnberry, two of South Florida's leading real estate development firms, have topped off construction at Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, an 800-room, 17-story hotel adjacent to the Miami Beach Convention Center. Balfour Beatty is the project's general contractor. Construction is slated for completion in late 2027.

Miami Beach continues to experience strong tourism and convention demand. In 2025, Greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed 28.3 million visitors, underscoring the need for expanded, high-quality hotel inventory adjacent to the Convention Center.

Located at 17th Street and Convention Center Drive, Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will provide seamless access to the newly renovated Miami Beach Convention Center. The hotel will offer bold and vibrant architecture and design, true to the Grand Hyatt Brand, featuring 12 floors of elevated guest rooms, including 50 suites with sweeping views of Miami Beach, and four floors of meeting and ballroom space designed to complement the Convention Center's programming. The 110,000 square feet of meeting space will also include an 8,000-square foot Grand Lawn located on the fifth floor rooftop amenity deck with views of the Miami skyline.

Designed by Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica, and built by Balfour Beatty, Grand Hyatt Miami Beach will offer resort-style amenities and serve as a catalyst for Miami Beach's evolution into a premier destination for national and international meetings and events. The hotel was designed to be a destination within a destination where guests will enjoy an expansive amenity deck with two resort style swimming pools, event space, Grand Club, and Fitness Center with Spa Treatment Room. The hotel will offer panoramic city vistas, a signature restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, as well as 17,000 square feet of retail space designed to activate the street-level experience. The hotel will offer a variety of guest rooms and suites, with nearly two thirds of rooms featuring spacious balconies and many offering views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. Additionally, a climate-controlled skybridge will serve as a connection between the hotel and the Convention Center, enhancing connectivity and convenience for event attendees.
