Penn State Altoona March 26 panel to highlight women leading sustainable change

Registration is now open for Penn State Altoona's Bring Our Children to Work Day on Monday, April 13.

ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona will hold a panel discussion for Women's History Month at noon on Thursday, March 26, in the Fireside Lounge of the Slep Student Center. This year's theme is "Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future." The event is free and open to the public.

Women leaders from the region will share how they are driving environmental, social and economic sustainability in their communities.

Panelists include:

  • Lisa Emili, associate professor of environmental studies at Penn State Altoona
  • Falyn Elizabeth Verner, Penn State Altoona undergraduate student
  • Karen Keifer-Boyd, professor of art education and women's, gender, and sexuality studies at Penn State University Park
  • Ashley Gay Vocco and Cheryl Gonsman, representatives from Family Services Inc. in Altoona.

Conversation and questions will highlight women's leadership, intergenerational dialogue and local action toward a more sustainable and equitable world.
