Winner of Creative Greensboro’s 2027 New Play Project Announced

Playwright Katie Cobb's play "Dear God!" has been selected as Creative Greensboro's 2027 North Carolina New Play Project winner.

"Dear God!" is a heartfelt coming-of-age comedy focused on Beth, a student struggling with what exactly it means to be good. She receives a little divine intervention from two unlikely guardian angels: (alleged) axe-murderess Lizzie Borden and (alleged) mass-disease-spreader Typhoid Mary. What could go wrong? "Dear God!" will be produced by Creative Greensboro as part of its 58th season next year.

She is also a member of the Triangle workshop group Sips and Scripts. As a mechanical engineer, she works on electric vehicle fast charging equipment at a research and development company in Raleigh.
