Second Drone Shot Down by a Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon Aircraft


On Saturday, July 25th, at 08:22, the radar surveillance systems of the Romanian Ministry of National Defence detected another unauthorized penetration of the national airspace by a drone operating in the vicinity of the Ukrainian border.


Two Romanian Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft conducting Air Policing Service intercepted the aerial target and carried out the standard identification and neutralization procedures.


The drone was safely shot down in an unpopulated area near the border.


Romanian Ministry of National Defence teams will deploy to the impact site to conduct the necessary investigations.


The Ministry of National Defence continues to closely monitor the airspace situation and remains in close coordination with Allied structures.
