On 25 June, the International Day of the Seafarer, Wagenborg recognises the professionalism, resilience and responsibility of the seafarers who operate our vessels every day - often far from home and sometimes in complex or high-risk environments.
Seafarers make up the majority of Wagenborg's workforce, and their safety and wellbeing are fundamental to how we operate. Safety is our highest priority, embedded in our culture, leadership and daily decision-making across all divisions.
Working at sea can be demanding - physically, socially and mentally. Wagenborg recognises that wellbeing goes beyond physical safety alone. Our approach focuses on:
High seafarer retention rates underline the importance of continuity, trust and care within our crews.
Wagenborg operates globally in a world shaped by geopolitical uncertainty and evolving risks. We take our duty of care seriously and continuously assess how to operate responsibly, safely and in compliance with international regulations - always with the wellbeing of our people as a guiding principle.
On the International Day of the Seafarer, we express our sincere appreciation to all seafarers - within Wagenborg and across the maritime sector - whose dedication makes safe and reliable shipping possible.
Seafarers deserve safe, fair and humane working conditions - everywhere.
