Working Families Tax Cuts Celebrate Employees

Washington, D.C.-American businesses could not succeed without the hard work of the hundreds of millions of employees that take business plans and make them reality. That is why Employee Appreciation Day is observed today, and it is also why the Working Families Tax Cuts, led by U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), prioritize helping Idahoans get ahead by keeping more of what they earn.

"Our communities are stronger when people find it easier to meet their families' needs, which also helps them to engage more productively at work," said Crapo. "By preventing a massive tax hike and addressing some of the biggest financial stressors for working Idahoans, the Working Families Tax Cuts give employees something to celebrate every day."

Key wins:

  • No tax on tips for millions of tipped workers
  • No tax on overtime for nearly a quarter of Idaho's workforce
  • Permanent increases to the Employer-Provided Child Care Credit, the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit and the Dependent Care Assistance exclusion
  • Permanent extension and enhancement of the Paid Family and Medical Leave Tax Credit
  • Permanent lower tax rates for all taxpayers
  • Permanent increased standard deduction
