Eastbound I-84 to close overnight Aug. 13 between Garrity and Ten Mile exits

NAMPA - The Idaho Transportation Department will close eastbound Interstate 84 between the Garrity Boulevard Interchange (Exit 38) and Ten Mile Road Interchange (Exit 42) overnight Thursday, Aug. 13.

The closure will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and will allow crews to safely pour concrete for the bridge decks on the flyover ramps for the new interchange at State Highway 16 and Interstate 84.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Franklin Road during the closure. View the detour map.

Ongoing nighttime lane restrictions on eastbound and westbound I-84 will continue through the summer as crews continue construction of the SH-16 and I-84 Interchange, which is expected to open in 2027. Upon completion this interchange will be part of the new SH-16 corridor extension which will be a limited-access highway between SH-44 and I-84.

Text HIGHWAY16 to 1-866-483-8422 for project updates. For maps and details about the project, visit itd.idaho.gov/project/sh16construction.

Drivers are encouraged to plan extra time when traveling through the area at night and check 511.idaho.gov or the 511 mobile app for the latest updates on restrictions and delays.
