Explore the World of Writing and Publishing at the Bettendorf Public Library on Thursday, May 7

April 24, 2026 - Whether you are an established author, an enthusiast of the written word, or you fall somewhere in between, the Bettendorf Public Library invites you to explore the captivating world of storytelling at its upcoming Local Author Showcase.

On Thursday, May 7, from 6-8 p.m., delve into the intricacies of writing and publishing with authors from Writers on the Avenue in Muscatine, Iowa; the Writer's Studio of the Midwest Writing Center in Rock Island, Illinois; library staff; and others.

During the showcase, the authors will share an excerpt of their work and insights into their creative processes. The floor will then be opened for attendees to engage with authors as they answer questions and reveal their journeys from manuscript to publication. Authors' books will be available to purchase, and information about local writing groups will be provided at this event.
