Airbnb is pleased to announce the latest recipients of the Airbnb Community Fund, which include 28 nonprofits making a difference in Europe. These European organizations will between them receive over $2 million in funding this year.
Launched in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund is a $100 million initiative designed to support local communities and the people who live there. In 2025, the Airbnb Community Fund donated nearly $10 million to nonprofits globally, supporting organizations working to strengthen communities around the world.
Airbnb hosts are deeply connected to their communities, and each year we proudly partner with the host community to identify important issues and many of the nonprofit organizations that will receive donations. Host Advisory Board members helped select economic empowerment, sustainable and rural tourism, environmental sustainability, and ending abuse and exploitation as focus areas for this year's donations. They also reviewed nominations in their regions, bringing host perspective to every decision.
Organizations receiving donations in Europe include:
These organizations are part of a wider global group of recipients, which includes CD11 Foundation in Los Angeles, Fundación Renacer in Colombia, DxP in Japan and The Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence in Australia, among others.
Members of Airbnb Host Clubs, which are led by volunteer hosts, and Host Advisory Board members also nominated organizations in their communities. More than 50 Host Club selected organizations to receive donations, including Brigown Arts and Heritage Project in Ireland, Asociación Deverde El Escorial in Spain, Linaria ETS in Italy, and NABU Berlin in Germany.
Recipients of Community Fund donations shared how the donation will support their work:
Association of Families and Women in Rural Areas (AFAMMER), Spain "We would like to thank Airbnb for the trust placed in AFAMMER. This essential partnership will allow us to drive strategic, multi-faceted rural tourism initiatives that promote the economic and social development of our communities. A core focus will be on strengthening regional economies by actively fostering the consumption of local and artisanal products, thereby creating robust synergies across our rural areas." - Carmen Quintanilla, AFAMMER President.
Airbnb hosts around the world shared why they nominated nonprofits to receive Community Fund donations:
Anne de Saint Hubert from Tarragona, Spain, nominated Associació d'Empreses d'Ecoturisme del Delta de l'Ebre, Spain
"This (award) benefits the whole southern region of the province of Tarragona, which has a more rural, environmentally friendly sort of tourism compared with the northern part of the province. They help maintain the status of the region as a protected nature reserve, and at the same time aim to stimulate local development."
Cinzia Nadalini, Host Advisory Member from Italy nominated the Lariana Boat Museum Foundation (Italy)
"I'm deeply committed to protecting the heritage of my region, and the boat is, above all, one of the most distinctive symbols of Lake Como's history, traditions, and cultural identity. The Museum preserves and brings to life the nautical tradition of the area -celebrating the shipyards and boats that have been built here and have sailed these waters for centuries. Lake Como is a globally recognized destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. This museum can help redistribute tourism away from the most overcrowded spots and, at the same time, introduce visitors to the area's rich cultural traditions."
To date, more than 640 organizations in nearly 70 countries have benefited from the Airbnb Community Fund, with hosts providing input each year. To learn more about the Airbnb Community Fund and this year's recipients, please visit the Airbnb Community Fund website.
The 2025-2026 Airbnb Community Fund donations will be distributed from November 2025 through March 2026. Airbnb works with grantmaking partners including Goodstack to support due diligence and facilitate payment to many non-profit recipients.
