The world's biggest trade show, Consumer Electronics Show (CES), kicked off on Jan. 7 in Las Vegas and was attended by over 141,000 people, including 6,000 journalists. The show buzzed with AI innovations across categories, a return to entertainment on the global stage, next-generation smart glasses and automotive highlights. While CES is always jampacked with large breaking news and feature launches from major brands, Xperi was able to showcase the role that it plays in creating extraordinary experiences at home and on the go for millions of consumers around the world and garner a piece of the pie by highlighting exciting announcements and key wins for its independent media platform.
Xperi's independent media platform provides OEMs with a user-centric, content-first experience across smart TVs, IPTV and in the car to drive brand awareness and consumer engagement. Additionally, the platform's multi-screen advertising solution enables brands to engage with their audiences where they enjoy their favorite content.
Throughout CES 2025, Xperi highlighted key milestones and features of its media platform technologies. Whether a customer was receiving a demo of the newly launched TiVo One cross-screen advertising platform at the suites in ARIA or a journalist was discussing AI audio trends for DTS Clear Dialogue on the show floor, the team was busy with over 295 meetings with prospects, customers, journalists, analysts and more.
Here are some of the major highlights from the show.
Smart TVs Powered by TiVo captured headlines
Xperi announced that the TiVo OS platform would be entering the U.S. television market with Sharp Home Electronics Company of America as one of two major OEM partners. Sharp's TiVo-powered TVs are expected to be available to U.S. consumers starting in February 2025.
This U.S. expansion follows TiVo's successful rollout across Europe in 2024, where they partnered with eight manufacturers and 33 brands, including major names like Panasonic, Sharp, JVC and Vestel. TiVo OS has been operating in 26 European countries and recently added another OEM partner for the European market.
The announcement received several feature articles and positive reviews from those who were able to receive a demo. Feature coverage can be found on outlets such as CNET, ZDNet, The Verge, Engadget, StreamTVInsider, Advanced TV and many more, with headlines such as "Move Over Roku, TiVo OS is Coming to the US," from How to Geek.
Revving up in-car entertainment with DTS AutoStage and IMAX Enhanced
On the show floor, Xperi's connected car technologies were prominently spotlighted in a BMW X3, Ford Escape and Mercedes E-Class. Passersby took note of the beautiful cars and many customers and journalists received demos of DTS AutoStage Video Service and the newly launched IMAX Enhanced in the vehicle.
The booth highlighted the important milestone that DTS AutoStage is now integrated into over 10 million vehicles globally. As the connected car becomes the ultimate entertainment hub, DTS AutoStage seamlessly combines broadcast and IP-delivered content, offering a personalized and immersive experience for drivers and passengers alike. Building off DTS AutoStage, the video service focuses on delivering a personalized, intuitive viewing experience, bridging the transition from the home to the in-vehicle experience, allowing users to effortlessly continue their entertainment journey.
Another exciting announcement came from Xperi's partners at Mercedes-Benz, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment and IMAX. Through Sony's RIDEVU service, attendees were able to experience IMAX-quality movies like 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' in a Mercedes E-Class, complete with IMAX's expanded aspect ratio and DTS:X sound. This new in-car entertainment system impressed judges, earning Best in Show from eCoustics.
Xperi's focus on expanding entertainment into the vehicle has placed the company at the forefront of innovation in the space. This is evident by CES selecting Jeff Jury, senior vice president and general manager of connected car for Xperi, as a panelist for a discussion on what's next in vehicle tech. The panel had a packed house of over 200 attendees as Jeff discussed what role he sees AI having in a more immersive in-car entertainment experience and what opportunities there are for auto OEMs in the coming years.
Introducing TiVo One
Another first, Xperi spotlighted its newly released TiVo One advertising platform for attendees, providing never-before-seen demos to prospects and press. TiVo One is a cross-screen marketing solution designed to optimize audience-based campaigns, delivering a common ad unit, across multiple screens and devices, including in-car. The goal of TiVo One is to provide advertisers with a way to reach consumers through our personalized entertainment experience that meets the needs of all participants - OEMs, retailers, content providers, advertisers and end users.

DTS Clear Dialogue continues to capture attention as an on-device solution that leverages the latest advancements in AI-based audio processing to improve dialogue intelligibility for TV audio, delivering a more engaging and personalized audio experience for consumers at home.
At CES, Xperi's demonstration of DTS Clear Dialogue left an impression on attendees.
