CSFD announces new public facing dashboard

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is excited to introduce its first ever public-facing data dashboard, offering residents a transparent and interactive view of emergency response activity across the city.

"As your Fire Chief, I believe in transparency and accountability. I'm thrilled to publish this new dashboard for you. It gives you an inside look at how your fire department serves our community every day. You'll be able to see call volumes, call types, and much more. Data drives our decisions and response strategies, which is why sharing this information with you is so important," said Fire Chief Randy Royal.

The dashboard includes two interactive pages that highlight calls for service handled by CSFD.

  • Page One provides a 12 month snapshot of emergency incidents, featuring:
    • A breakdown of the most common call types.
    • The top 10 sub-categories within each call type.
    • A monthly trend chart showing call volume over the past year.
  • Page Two offers a station-level and geographic overview:
    • Residents can select their neighborhood fire station to view:
      • Call distribution by time of day.
      • Station specific information.
      • Call volume over the past 3 months
    • A citywide map displays call density by location.

Both pages are fully interactive, allowing users to explore data by month, category, and location. This dashboard reflects CSFD's commitment to transparency and community engagement, helping residents better understand the department's role in public safety.

The dashboard can be found at ColoradoSprings.gov/csfd-data-dashboard.
