President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Chile’s President-elect José Antonio Kast

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, met with Chile's President-elect José Antonio Kast during his working visit to Chile.

The President of Chile welcomed the President of the Republic and thanked him for accepting the invitation and visiting Chile.

"Over the past decades, Chile has undergone fundamental changes. However, we continue to maintain institutional and friendly relations with our partners and are also interested in strengthening relations with Armenia and launching new initiatives in areas of mutual interest," said José Antonio Kast.

President Khachaturyan expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and the invitation. "I sincerely congratulate You on being elected President and wish You success. You are assuming a very responsible position during a challenging period, where important issues must be addressed.

Armenia has great interest in deepening cooperation with Chile and the countries of South America, and in recent years has been taking active steps in that direction," said the President.

During the meeting, the sides also referred to the general situation and developments in the South Caucasus region, in connection with which the President of the Republic provided his counterpart with details about the ongoing processes.

The interlocutors exchanged views on identifying new areas of cooperation and clarifying priority directions. In this context, special emphasis was placed on the significant potential for cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and information technologies, and the importance of fully realizing that potential, which could create a new and effective platform for both countries.

At the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan invited the President of Chile to visit Armenia.
